Asian-facing online gambling operator Dafabet has renewed its shirt sponsorship with English Premier League side Sunderland AFC.
Dafabet hooked up with Sunderland in June 2015 and the relationship went smoothly enough that the parties have agreed to re-up for an additional three years, extending their ties through the end of the 2018-19 EPL season.
Dafabet has promised some new tricks for the upcoming season, including giving fans group Ha’way the Flags a new giant crowd-surfer flag for use at the Stadium of Light when the team is playing.
Dafabet’s sponsorship point man John Cruces said the new deal “was actually agreed in principle some time back,” reflecting the value the bookies placed on their Sunderland partnership.
Sunderland commercial director Gary Hutchinson said there was “a real synergy” between the club’s and Dafabet’s goals and the the past year had seen “our partnership with them flourish on a global level.”
NETBET INK SHIRT DEAL WITH SAINT-ÉTIENNE
Shifting to the continent, the French-licensed site of online bookmaker NetBet has improved upon its existing relationship with French Ligue 1 side AS Saint-Étienne. NetBet hooked up with Les Verts last August in a deal that allowed the bookmaker premium branding opportunities at the State Geoffroy-Guichard.
The latest deal, which extends through the 2017-2018 season, will see NetBet’s logo appear on Saint-Étienne’s right-hand shirt pocket. NetBet France chairman Alain Bocarra said the deal was a logical one given that “football represents a large portion of our business.”
