Gaming supplier International Game Technology (IGT) signed a deal with Baha Mar Resort to deploy games to half of the slot floor and a result-driven casino management system, sbX Floor Manager.
Under the deal, IGT will install more than 500 slot machines and a vast array of games including Wheel of Fortune and the new S3000 spinning reel cabinet.
The $3.5 billion Baha Mar resort casino in Nassau, Bahamas has a 100,000 square-foot casino floor, which is expected to open this month. The development will include a resort, hotels, restaurants, a golf course, and retail shops.
“We’re thrilled to bring so many IGT games in combination with our innovative systems to such an esteemed casino project,” said Tim Shortall, IGT’s VP of Eastern Region Sales. “IGT’s decades of leadership in the global marketplace give us the tools and expertise needed to deliver a diverse casino portfolio that will appeal to Baha Mar’s international audience. Through the deployment of sbX Floor Manager, Baha Mar can further refine and optimize its casino floor and deliver on its promise of the most remarkable casino in the Caribbean.”
“Baha Mar will completely redefine gaming entertainment in the Caribbean,” said Paul Pusateri, Baha Mar Chief Operating Officer. “We’re building a world-class gaming destination, and it’s imperative that we work with partners who share our same vision and commitment to excellence. IGT’s depth of gaming knowledge and breadth of portfolio are the best in the industry and together, we’re creating the ultimate casino experience.”
Meanwhile, IGT’s interactive division launched its two MegaJackpots games—Cleopatra and Siberian Storm—with more than 20 European gaming operators, including Paddy Power, BGO, SkyVegas and GalaBingo, across desktop and mobile devices.
IGT has set aside £2m for jackpot funding and cash prizes. IGT also launched a month-long promotional campaign which will see the company give away a total of £500,000 to 10,000 winners, including fifty instant payouts of £1,000.
“Releasing MegaJackpots Cleopatra and MegaJackpots Siberian Storm is a significant milestone for IGT Interactive and there is even more good news on the way with additional MegaJackpots titles scheduled for later in the year,” said Leigh Nissim, commercial director of IGT Interactive. “The launch campaign and financial support for the games underlines the faith we have in our products and IGT’s legacy content and is a testament to our firm commitment to providing added value to our customers and their players.”
