WinView, a US-based company that focuses on synchronized two-screen television, has secured $1.2 million (€1.1 million) in second round venture investment.
The funds raised will be used to finance the development and launch of its real-time mobile sports application with live television, in time for the 2015 football season.
WinView’s app will allow fans to play skill-based, in-game competitions during live television sports events and win cash rewards and prizes.
The company said that its new app will offer a similar experience to live in-play betting and will targets sports fans across a range of interest levels.
“There is an inevitable progression of media and entertainment genres that leverage technology to reach the desired mobile and real-time consumption in Europe,” said WinView Games founder and CEO Dave Lockton. “This axiom is already being applied to televised-sports-based games of chance and skill. The European migration of betting and fantasy-based gaming—from season to weekly to daily—which is now over 70% live in-play on mobile—is primed to happen with televised sports in the U.S.”
“Our unique legal free two screen games for cash awards, which is protected by 18 issued and 19 pending patents, will finally bring real-time mobile cash rewarded game experience to virtually all televised sports in the next few years. After all, what’s more exciting than competing for cash with friends and league members?” Lockton added.
The first round of financing enabled WinView to raise $2 million for the venture.
Meanwhile Genesis Gaming has launched a content catalogue solution for social casinos.
The plug and play catalogue of “proven video slot content” allows a social casino to “grow with a single integration to get 20 games at once”. The firm said that the new solution will enable operators to add up to 20 games during a single integration.
Geoffrey Hansen, Managing Director of Genesis Gaming, said that his company has been providing video slots for different casino sites for quite some time now. He also pointed out that their intention now is to make their most popular real-money games available to social casino operators by means of a basic plug and play solution.
“We are offering a package that will make it easy for a social casino to expand its games portfolio,” said Genesis director of social casino business development Baldy Rakhra. “We recognize the value of proven content for customer acquisition and retention, and our proven real-money games from regulated jurisdictions in Europe are best positioned to provide our social casino partners with revenue growth and profitability.”
The catalogue features both Flash and HTML5 content, while options are also available for native clients on iOS and Android.
