The first company to receive accreditation for independent testing of casino games in Poland has been given a license. The Ministry of Finance, who have authority as the country’s gambling regulator, awarded the license to Gaming Laboratories International (GLI). It means that GLI Europe and GLI Austria are now accrediated as Poland’s casino auditor.
“We are very pleased with the support given to GLI by the Ministry of Finance and Customs Service Department during the certification process. “It was a pleasure for our team to work with the regulators writing new technical standards to govern this market,” said GLI Austria Managing Director Heinz Winkelbauer.
He added, “We look forward to a long and rewarding relationship with the government of Poland and wish them much success.”
The government earlier this year agreed to allow sports betting in the country. It has so far not allowed for any other part of the industry to be regulated. That’s an industry that reportedly saw €1bn gambled online in 2010. In terms of their expansion plans, Phillip Barow, Managing Director of GLI Europe, added, “As Eastern European countries adopt new gaming regulations and technical standards, GLI will always be there to offer our services and expertise to assist these jurisdictions,”
“The gaming marketplace throughout Eastern Europe continues to evolve, which is one of the reasons why we chose to hold our Regulators Roundtable in Budapest earlier this summer.”
Elsewhere, SoccerMillionaire has been awarded a software supplier license by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC).
David Galan, CEO of Soccer Millionaire, said, “This allows Soccer Millionaire to offer its products to a much wider customer base, including other Alderney licensees, as well as in the UK, Soccer Millionaire’s traditional B2C market.
“SoccerMillionaire.com has been totally revamped for the 2011/12 football season and we are excited about the prospects with new and innovative products.”
The UK Gambling Commission already licenses the company and the new certificate will enable them to license the product to other Alderney-based operators.
