Last month we revealed that Bet365 had pulled further clear of Betfair at the top of the Oddschecker UK sports bookmaker Top 10 – and the World Cup has only served to put more daylight between the two. There’s no doubt that money-back promotions such as their 0-0 cashback offer – which incidentally cost the firm £2m during the World Cup – will have had a significant bearing on their increase of market share up to 15.5%. Betfair’s market share decreased to 12.6% last month, from 13% in May, while Ladbrokes dropped from 10.3% to 10.1%.
