Who needs oddsmakers when you’ve got Paul the Octopus? The bookmakers have now started taking bets on whether football’s most famous oracle will correctly tip the winner of the final. The only reason it’s in any doubt is because Paul has only been asked to predict matches involving Germany so far, and apparently he’s been too busy to watch any of the other teams. Either way, William Hill will be doing whatever he says after it took a €500,000 losing bet from a customer who had the sheer stupidity to ignore Paul’s advice.
