The National Basketball Association has asked U.S. sportsbook operators to pay a fee to access its official data or lose the opportunity to offer a proper roster of in-play wagering to bettors. ESPN reported that Sportsradar, an official NBA data supplier, relayed the ultimatum to states where sports wagering is legal. Sportsradar emphasized that unauthorized gaming operators will not receive NBA’s official data by May 28. However, it is not yet clear whether Sportradar rivals such as Genius Sports are making similar demands to their customers.
