The UK Gambling Commission stood firm in its decision to allow BetBright to cease trading and void all outstanding wagers placed earlier this month. In a statement, the gambling regulator said gamblers should be thankful as BetBright owners claimed the company was facing the “very real possibility of insolvent liquidation” before it was bought by 888 for £15m. UKGC added that some of the £15m from the 888 deal “formed part of the assets used to settle outstanding liabilities.” It can be recalled that BetBright decided to void all wagers just 24 hours after 888 announced the deal.
