IGT ink deal with Sony Pictures Consumer Products that will see the timeless classics Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! become available to a much wider audience around the world.
With Avatar and the Walking Dead busting out new slot machine derivatives is there any room for the timeless classics?
Well according to International Game Technology (IGT) there most certainly is, as the gaming and software giant has inked deals that will see more exposure given to the classic TV show themes Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!
IGT have announced a multi-year agreement with Sony Pictures Consumer Products that will see the pair delivering the classic Wheel of Fortune to players throughout the globe.
The agreement will see the famous old wheel being introduced to mobile casinos and also IGT’s social media outlet DoubleDown Casino.
Since IGT launched its first-ever Wheel of Fortune slot machine, over 200 different types of the format have been released including Triple Cash, Lucky 7’s and Wild Gems, proving that there is still life in the old dog yet.
The Wheel of Fortune slot machine has paid out over $2.92 billion since 1996 and only last week over $2m was paid out in jackpots in Bossier City, Louisiana. Paul T. Lorena, from Texas, took down the $1,043,362.84 jackpot at the Horseshoe Bossier City Hotel and Casino, playing on the Wheel of Fortune Spinning Reel – Double 3x4x5x Times Pay, after visiting the casino on a short vacation.
Then a second jackpot of $1,026,861.46 was taken from the Margaritaville Resort Casino, just a few blocks away from the location of the first win. This time the Wheel of Fortune Double Diamond 2x Fire was the lucky machine.
As part of the agreement IGT have also licensed the Jeopardy! brand, and this also ensures that you will be able to play this famous game on the DoubleDown casino network.
It’s the first time that the Jeopardy! Brand has been made available for online social casino gamers in the U.S.
