Game testing labs, Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) is celebrating four years of successful business alliance with Mexican IT firm the Normalizacion y Certificacion Electronica (NYCE).
Helping to bring testing standards to Mexico over the years, both companies issued a statement today from their business leaders commenting on the four-year anniversary.
GLI Development Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, Karen Sierra-Hughes, said: “GLI and NYCE have worked diligently to bring gaming standards to Mexico, and both organisations are extremely proud of our work thus far. We have made tremendous strides, and now, GLI together with NYCE, will be responsible for and shall continue to ensure that all gaming devices are tested and certified in accordance with the newly established Mexican requirements we worked so hard to bring to fruition.”
Since 2008, GLI and NYCE have established technical standards, known as the NMX Gaming Standards.
Salvador Sánchez of NYCE added: “GLI and NYCE have been working very hard to create an environment in Mexico that is secure and fair for everyone – operators, regulators, and players. The work we have done in testing standards so far is extremely significant.”
NYCE and GLI stated they will maintain the certification program for gaming devices as demanded by the Mexican government.
Scientific Games Corporation may be going through a bit of unsteady ground as of late with its restructure with Playtech, but its subsidiary MDI Entertainment is showing signs of substantial growth. Today the subsidiary announced it has added the Bazooka bubble gum brand to its portfolio through a multi-year agreement with The Topps Company.
President, Properties Group and Chief Creative Officer for Scientific Games, Steve Saferin, said in a statement: “Bazooka bubble gum has been part of people’s lives for generations, and more than half a billion pieces of Bazooka gum are sold every year,” said “It’s a classic American brand, which should make these tickets a real hit with lottery customers.”
The agreement gives lotteries rights, through MDI, to use official current and historical product logos, artwork and trademarks to market their games.
