Bodog-sponsored Ayr United pulled off their second-cup shock of the season by slaying the mighty Hearts thanks to goalkeeping heroics from Kevin Cuthbert. James McKernan kept The Honest Men at 100% before Cuthbert stepped forward. First, the United man saved from Daniel Grainger and, after Alan Trouten had converted for the home side, Rudi Skacel’s effort was also pushed away.
It was down to Mark Roberts to keep the Ayr record at 100% and see them progress to the quarters 4-1 in the shootout.
