Fortuna Entertainment is set to strengthen their position in the Polish market with the acquisition of Polish Tipsport. The deal would see Fortuna extend its lead at the top of the Polish market to one third and make the lead they hold even stronger than it is already. Jiří Bunda, CEO of Fortuna, said, “We have begun due diligence this week and if there will be no unexpected complications, then nothing will prevent the conclusion of the takeover of Tipsport PL before the end of this September.”
The acquisition will also build on their online presence in the country, Bunda adding, “Our strategy is a combination of branch network and online betting. We are engaged in intensive preparations to expand network retail outlets and strengthen our market position so that it will positively impact on online betting in Poland.”
Poker in the Park has secured its latest Blue Chip sponsor as PokerStars.co.uk signs up to be the sponsor of the very first main stage. The annual jamboree enters its fifth year and sees all manner of activities on offer for the some 20,000+ visitors that are expected between 2nd and 3rd September at Hanover Square.
“We’re thrilled that PokerStars has come on board,” said festival organiser Michael Caselli. “Having the most popular poker room in the world on board is not only great for Poker in the Park, but shows how committed PokerStars is to the entire sport of poker.”
The main stage will play host to a number of musical acts and this year’s British Poker Awards will also be out in the open on the main stage. As the official media sponsor, there will be plenty of coverage right here on the tablog so check back in early September to check out the action.
