As November draws nearer to the close and we’re constantly reminded of how many weeks we have left until Christmas and all that goes with it, the year is also coming to an end for the poker world. Already this month we’ve born witness to the WSOP main event win by a little-known Canadian, and Vanessa Selbst showed the French what she was all about by taking down the Partouche Poker Tour. Little surprise then that the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Main Event starts today.
London’s Vic is the venue for the nine day long event which concludes with the £2,500 main event. Last year’s winner, former-footballer Tony Cascarino, will be looking to win an unprecedented third GUKPT main event title after the £168,800 win gave him a second title.
Cascarino won’t be the only big name at the event, one that is known to attract big names. They will take part alongside the GUKPT regulars still attempting to win the GUKPT Player of the Year. After winning last week’s event in Blackpool, David Johnson is out in front right now but it could all change after the nine-day event has concluded.
The £2,200 World Heads Up Championship also takes place alongside the GUKPT main event and starts tomorrow, and is being streamed live. You can reach the stream by clicking here.
