Fire and Ice 2008

Ah, Fire & Ice, my favourite social event of the year. I am really looking forward to attending my fourth consecutive Fire & Ice, but I must say that my first Fire & Ice experience will forever have a special place in my heart.

Why? Funny you ask. I met Calvin Ayre in person for the first time at the Bodog Conference in 2005, but we had our first “real” conversation inside the ICEi exhibition hall in 2006, right next to the main bar where he had been drinking wine all day. He was very enthusiastic about meeting up at the Fire & Ice party later that night, in fact he even took my number to make sure we’d meet up, but guess what. When I arrived at the party, Calvin had already been escorted out of the party by his personal assistant because he was just too drunk. Or, at least that’s the rumour that I heard throughout the night.

Ironically enough, this time around I will be attending and covering this decadent event as CalvinAyre.com’s International Gaming Industry Socialite and Head On-Site Reporter. Now don’t you worry, there is no leaving early this time, or at least I won’t be.

In the past I’ve have seen ice luges, VIP tables with private waitresses, all sorts of entertainment, plenty of shots, and many, many, many inebriated igaming people having tons of fun. This year the theme is DECADENCE in caps, and I have been told to “expect the unexpected” throughout the night with “provocative entertainment”, whatever that is supposed to mean. Whatever it means, I don’t even care, it’s already obvious that I won’t be leaving before 3am.

There are over 2000 people expected to attend this huge networking event, so mark Wednesday night, 27 January on your calendars as fully booked because we’re going to have some fun. If you’re interested in reserving a VIP table for the party, please get in touch with Jodie Thind ASAP as there are only a few tables left. See you there, and maybe you can have the honour of getting escorted out of the party just like Calvin did in 2006! Careful though, there is a good chance the CalvinAyre.com camera will be watching…

Industry lifestyle news and tablog CalvinAyre.com to attend and cover industry’s most decadent social event

10 December 2009 (London, UK)
– Lyceum Media are in full swing planning the 9th Annual Fire & Ice party and they are pleased to announce CalvinAyre.com as one of their media partners.

Recently launched, CalvinAyre.com is the place for industry insiders to go to for global online gaming industry news and lifestyle news.

“CalvinAyre.com is a perfect media partner for Fire & Ice. They are all about the vibe of the iGaming community. Fire & Ice is all about lifestyle and entertainment and fits in line with the CalvinAyre.com’s philosophy. Over the years Fire & Ice has grown and developed into the biggest night out in the iGaming calendar and it can’t be done without the industry’s support,” says Jodie Thind of Lyceum Media.

“Lyceum Media are the PR and Event experts in the space, so teaming up with them and their famous Fire & Ice party is a great complement to what we do,” explains Rebecca Liggero of CalvinAyre.com.

Fire & Ice was formed for the industry when the iGaming business didn’t have any parties of their own and were refused invitations to land based gaming industry parties. So the partners in Lyceum Media decided that iGaming would host a party of their own… a party that would be better, more fun, more entertaining than any of the land based industry had ever done.

Having grown from 60 or 70 online gaming pioneers in 2002, Fire & Ice is proud to open its doors to 2,000 online gaming industry executives and is always a special event for the pioneers that come to the party annually.

Fire & Ice 2010 is at the exquisite Gilgamesh, and its theme this year…DECADENCE. Expect the unexpected throughout the night with avant-garde, twisted and provocative entertainment.

Fire & Ice is a FREE event for the iGaming industry and takes place on Wednesday 27 January 2010 from 8:30pm. Tickets can be picked up from Lyceum Media or CalvinAyre.com reps at ICEi or from the Fire & Ice website.

Besides the sponsorship opportunities, Fire & Ice are also offering VIP tables dispersed throughout the party. As in all the best clubs, the VIP tables lend an element of uber-lounge to Fire & Ice and provide VIP Table guests with bottle service and dedicated hostesses.

About Fire&Ice
Fire&Ice began in 2002 when founders in the iGaming industry decided that they wanted a social event to rival those held by the terrestrial-gaming industry. Nine years later, Fire&Ice is the most anticipated event in the iGaming social calendar and the largest social iGaming networking event.

Fire&Ice is for the industry and completely, supported by the industry. We want to keep Fire & Ice a free event for all iGaming execs so industry sponsorship and support plays the most important role in this event each year.
