Bookies dive for cover as punters back Spain for more glory
Spain may have won the European Championship and the World Cup but the domination of La Furia Roja won’t stop there. At least not according to the UK’s punters, who are convinced that another European crown will be added to Spain’s burgeoning palmares. Even though that won’t happen for another two years, the bookies have, unlike Xabi Alonso when confronted by Nigel De Jong, taken evasive action, whittling their odds in from 9/2 to 7/2. Read more.
