The Netherlands’ Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) regulatory body imposed a €400k fine on TSG Interactive Gaming Europe after allowing Dutch customers to access the PokerStars.eu domain without a gambling license. The KSA found PokerStars.eu guilty of committing various infractions that include the ability to access the site from a Dutch IP address, the use of popular Dutch payment processor iDeal, and exclusion of the Netherlands in the site’s list of excluded territories. The penalty imposed on TSG would mean that it will likely be ineligible to operate under Netherlands’ liberalized online gambling regime in 2021.
