Olli Sarekoski, CEO of Finland’s Veikkaus, has apologized after the state-run gambling monopoly aired ad spots featuring characters who crave thrills and a therapist who advises the characters that the Veikkaus site is where they can satisfy these cravings. Due to the backlash that the ads received, the company temporarily pulled out its promos from TV, radio, print, online, outdoor advertising and social media, except its lottery ads.
