The Story

The latest Seton Hall Sports Poll revealed that Americans want individual states, not the federal government, to control legal sports betting.

The survey also showed favorable majority opinion on legal wagering.

About 62% of respondents believe that state governments should be overseeing legal sports betting activity if the U.S. Supreme Court overturns the longtime federal betting ban. Also, it was found that 55% of respondents favor legalized betting versus just 35% who are opposed. Men (63%) and those aged 18-29 (68%) have also expressed support for legalized sports betting.
