Pennsylvania was able to get its first $1 million of new gambling revenue after Gov. Tom Wolf signed a law authorizing a major expansion of gambling.

According to an Associated Press report, the first million that went into the state coffers came from Valley Forge Casino, which paid a $1 million fee.

The report said that the casino shelled out the money in order to ease the gambling restrictions imposed on people who aren't taking part in other amenities there.

Gov. Walf signed the bill that extended casino-style gambling to truck stops, online portals and airports, and allowed 10 new mini-casinos to open in the state. He also approved legal online gambling in Pennsylvania, making it the fourth state in the U.S. to do so.

With the new law, the previous prohibition limiting the casino floor of Valley Forge to guests, membership holders and patrons, had been lifted. Thus, people from all walks of life can now visit the said establishment since it is now open to the public at no extra cost.

The new law would not only address the state's revenue concerns but analysts said that it is a sign that the US is slowly loosening its betting laws.
