unibet-jadestone-william-hillUnibet didn’t like whatever precious stone it was that Sportingbet was offering to give them in exchange for their business. It’s hardly any surprise when they already have a gambling industry gem of their own – and will do for another few years at least.

Jadestone Networks, a leading developer of fully managed online game solutions, today announced that they have extended their agreement with Unibet to last until the end of 2013.

The contract will continue to give Unibet customers complete access to Jadestone’s comprehensive portfolio or products, which includes backgammon, skill games, and a full range of casino and mini games.

Meanwhile Olde English sports book provider, William Hill, is launching a new campaign to help out one of the other old stagers of the gambling industry in the UK.

Their “Real Jobs, Real People” campaign will aim to put fact-based arguments about the horseracing Levy into the public domain.

William Hill’s Chief Executive, Ralph Topping said: “William Hill is a strong supporter of racing, as evidenced by our sponsorship of major events such as the William Hill King George, but not at a cost to jobs and the sustainability of high street betting shops.

“When racing’s leadership continue to peddle inaccurate and un-evidenced stories of a financial “crisis” within racing or that bookmakers are not making a “fair” return, then these statements need to be firmly challenged. Those outside the industry also need to understand the economics of an industry which is a major employer.

“The Levy needs to be replaced by a proper commercial relationship between racing and bookmakers”

Arguments over the horseracing levy have dominated much of the past year or so and anything that tells the facts is welcome.
