France’s performance in this summer’s World Cup was in a word merde, so to hear that French Football Federation president Jean-Pierre Escalettes is setting up an enquiry into the furor surrounding the squad is not a surprise. Investigators will look into the decision by the players to boycott a training session, orchestrated by senior players in the squad including Patrice Evra and MLS-bound Thierry Henry.
