As gambling regulators around the world continue to crack down on providers and hold them accountable for how much money gamblers spend on their platforms, some of the operators are increasingly coming under fire for allegedly not doing enough. Many have already been forced to pay millions of dollars in fines as a result and there’s little doubt that the attention given to the space is going to increase as all types of gambling continue to become more popular. LeoVegas has developed a solution that, in some small way, it hopes will help appease regulators and show them that the company is committed to providing safer gambling platforms.
LeoVegas has teamed up with Gambling Therapy to introduce LeoLine, a live chat service that will give individuals the ability to seek help if they feel they’re getting in over the heads with their betting. The service is available to all LeoVegas customers who are referred by its dedicated safer gambling team.
LeoLine is going to be evaluated for three months, after which its effectiveness will be shared with other companies in the gambling industry so that they, if they choose, can adopt similar solutions. It is designed to target early identification of gambling issues, as well as to increase awareness and education of LeoVegas employees in order for them to be better equipped to intervene in the event someone with a gambling problem is discovered.
The idea for LeoLine was born during Responsible Gambling Week last year. Rocket X, a LeoVegas subsidiary in the UK, developed the concept and the company’s CEO, Mark Good, explains, “Our mission at LeoVegas is to create the greatest online gaming experience, with safer gambling at the core of our culture. This innovative idea from within our own team has developed into a working solution and we are proud to be working with Gambling Therapy to deliver and share our findings with the wider industry.”
Gambling Therapy is a subsidiary of the Gordon Moody Association, a charity organization that centers on gambling addiction and treatment. LeoLine is just one of the solutions it is helping to create, with an additional 11 to be rolled out through other gambling platforms.
