Police have uncovered what is believed to be an all-female gambling ring following a tip off in the U.S. state of Georgia. In all six women were arrested and 10 gambling machines seized in a sleepy residential area in Gwinnett County, Ga. ABC report that a husband had allegedly tipped the police off after becoming worried their spouse had been gambling too much and Cpl. Jake Smith of the Gwinnett County Police Department admitted: “It seemed this was a woman’s-only organization. Men would come, but they were not permitted to gamble.”
From the pictures carried by ABSNews.com the neighborhood looks very tranquil but one eye witness told reporters that cars came “day and night” with a maximum of 10 cars and limosines carrying legions of “older ladies” to what we will dub the “Girl Power Gaming Club”.
Mi Hui Yi is the alleged ringleader of the operation and when arrested pointed police in the direction of a second home just round the corner. Police got their second surprise when they raided here and found women gambling when they visited. Several fled through the back doors and proceeded to partake in a Benny Hill style chase with the cops. Whether the theme tune was played only they know.
In all $15,000 in cash was seized, along with the machines, and Smith added: “That just goes to show you, you don’t know what’s going on right next door”. True dat.
