Italian gaming firm Microgame has surrendered its French gaming industry licence without taking any bets. Both sports betting and poker licences were acquired just over a year ago with the plan to offer People’s Poker and People’s Bet to French customers. There was no reason given as to why the licences had been forfeited and it may have something to do with France’s sports betting market seeing a huge decline in the fourth quarter.
Social gaming industry firm Cozy Games has appointed Rob Wheeler as their new commercial director. Wheeler was once the sales director at Virtue Fusion and new COO Tim Green told eGR: “Rob’s experience within this market will undoubtedly assist Cozy in meeting its goal as being the leading provider of innovative and differentiated gaming products, and to maintain our position as ‘provider of choice’ for a growing list of online gaming technology partners.”
Malta’s Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) has taken action against two flagrant operators that have LGA licences. Mowjow Gaming Ltd, a social gaming firm, had its licence suspended and the LGA also referred to case to Maltese Police to “initiate criminal procedures against the company and its shareholders.” It means that http://mowjow.com is no longer licenced.
The other firm to see action taken was Everleaf Gaming with a number of sanctions issued. It came after an investigation by the LGA found a “number of irregularities” at the firm. They’re now being “monitored closely” to make sure the company respects the laws of Malta in a correct fashion.
