French regulator Arjel has approved mobile betting software for two sites to operate services. Betclic and Pari-Mutuel Urbain (PMU) had their software approved late last week and it means each firm can offer a slightly differing service. PMU will accept horse-racing and bets on all other sports whereas Betclic licence limits them to purely accepting bets of sports.
In the same release, the French regulator repealed the licence of prospective sports betting site, The Nation Traffic. The licence was cancelled after the operator spoke of its intention to abandon the launch of Titanbet in the French market. The decision was an economic one after they decided it wasn’t viable to operate in the market in its current state. There’s no reason at this stage to think that it will in anyway affect Titan’s poker offering in the country.
Unibet has announced tie ups with a couple of Danish football clubs that will see their name plastered across various parts of the two stadiums. The sponsorship deal with FC København (Copenhagen) and FC Mitdjylland will lead to stands being renamed after the firm. “Unibet immediately understood the potential of our unique regional club cooperation and could therefore make an offer that was interesting for both the FC, but also very much for our 150 cooperative clubs have the opportunity to play an important role in cooperation with Unibet “said FCM boss Jens Ørgaard.
The deal comes after the market was opened up to companies earlier this month.
Gamesys has hired a new firm to take care of Jackpotjoy’s £5million advertising account. From April, London-based firm Isobel will launch a campaign across TV and online for the brand. Paul Houlding, the chief executive of Isobel, said: “Jackpotjoy is a great brand and we’ve got some cracking creative campaigns up our sleeve. We look forward to a successful long-term relationship.”
