Playtech announces 10-year agreement extension with Norsk Tipping London, 4 Febraury 2018 – Playtech, the world’s leading omni-channel gaming company, today announces that its subsidiary, Videobet, has agreed a 10-year contract extension with Norsk Tipping, Norway’s national gaming operator, to provide the system technology for its video lottery terminal (VLT) gaming system.

The strategic partnership between Playtech and Norsk Tipping, one of the most advanced gaming operators in world, began in 2003. It has seen Videobet’s VLT products and services available in more than a thousand of Norsk Tipping retail outlets across Norway.

The contract extension underlines Playtech’s position as a leading technology supplier in regulated and newly regulated markets, as well as its strategy to partner with, and invest in, the leading brands across these markets. It also reflects Playtech’s strength in retail, and commitment to integrating content across key product verticals.

Under the contract, Videobet will continue to maintain and extend the cutting-edge capabilities of its VLT system. Through an open architecture, the system has successfully operated Videobet and third party content for more than 10 years, and Videobet is currently extending the open capabilities by adding support for Remote Game Servers. A HTML5 game pilot in partnership with Norsk Tipping ran successfully during 2018.

Hans Erland Ringsvold, Head of Gaming operations, Norsk Tipping said: “We are very happy with the technology and services provided by Playtech and the Videobet team. We are confident that their VLT technology coupled with their professional expertise and experience from a wide range of markets will continue to provide great value for Norsk Tipping and ensure that we can fulfil our future VLT strategy and business objectives.”

Shimon Akad, COO, Playtech said: “For more than 15 years we have successfully supported Norsk Tipping in delivering a VLT program for the Norwegian market. We are excited to continue supporting them in the next 10 years, ensuring their VLT program remains fit for the market and provides a long-term sustainable offering that also caters to new generations of players.”
