The Maltese-based online sportsbook, Betway, will offer live odds at the Electronic Sports League Pro League Season 6, and the Swiss-based online bookie, Betradar, will do the same for League of Legends.
What does the legendary Spanish tenor, Placido Domingo, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive have in common?
Give up?
They will both be appearing on stage at the Sparkassen Fyn Arena in Odense, Denmark, this side of the new year.
While one-third of the famous Three Tenors will be belting out hits from the world’s greatest operas to a very mature audience, a bunch of young whippersnappers will be shooting the shit out of terrorists in front of a screaming teenage heavy throng.
And Betway will be on hand to witness the shooting-shit thing.
The Maltese-based online gambling company has extended their partnership with the Electronic Sports League (ESL) to act as sponsor for the forthcoming ESL Pro League Season 6.
It’s a boost for the Betway team, after their much publicised six-figure sponsorship deal with Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) came to a premature end. NiP decided to venture into the realm of League of Legends, where publishers Riot doesn’t fancy us gambling types.
It’s the second time the pair has held hands and skipped along the esports promenade. The first was in July when Betway sponsored ESL One Cologne. Betway added live odds to the broadcast and provided unique video content, and the same deal applies to the ESL Pro League relationship.
ESL Pro League is the largest CSGO league in the world. 14 teams from Europe and 14 teams from North America compete, online, and live, for a share of the $1m prize money, slightly more than the fee old Domingo will be getting for drawing tears out of the eyes of the Danish darlings who venture to Odense to see him.
Betradar Partner with DOJO Madness to Offer Live Odds in League of Legends Games
And it’s not just Betway who’ve been panning for esports gold.
This week, the Swiss based esports data and odds provider, Betradar, partnered with esports data giant DOJO Madness to offer live in-play betting odds for League of Legends (LOL).
The service is available after DOJO Madness collected data of over 450,000 LOL games and 18m different data points, so we can expect more bookmakers to enter the live in-play betting market shortly.
LOL is the most popular esport game in the world with over 100 million unique players per month, and a substantial roster of LOL games and tournaments throughout the calendar year.
