Loretta Pickus joins Grand Ho Tram board

Ho Tram, Vietnam, November 2016 – In September, former Trump Entertainment Resorts Vice President of Legal Affairs Loretta Pickus joined the board of Asian Coast Development Limited (ADCL), parent company of Vietnam’s leading integrated resort, The Grand Ho Tram in Ba Ria-Vung Tau. Ms. Pickus brings to The Grand Ho Tram a wealth of gaming and resort experience, including over two decades serving the U.S President-elect Donald Trump’s resort and casino group in Atlantic City, NJ.

Loretta Pickus joins Grand Ho Tram boardOver her more than twenty years with Trump Entertainment Resorts, Ms. Pickus was progressively elevated to the position of Chief Legal Officer for the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resorts. There, she was entrusted with oversight of the company’s day-to-day legal affairs and provided counsel for all aspects of the organization’s operations. Notably, she served as counsel for Ivanka Trump – daughter of the U.S. president-elect – during regulatory hearings before the New Jersey State Casino Control Commission in which she successfully obtained approval for Ivanka to join the board of Trump Entertainment Resorts. Among her other duties, she was also responsible for managing the organization’s anti-money laundering and suspicious activity reporting programs, obtaining regulatory approvals for new marketing programs, casino games and technologies, and overseeing employment and labor relations issues involving the company’s 8,500 employees. As a result of her success with Trump Entertainment Resorts, she has become a highly sought after regulatory consultant and recognized expert in gaming and resort law.

Looking ahead to 2017, Ms. Pickus is excited and optimistic about the victory of her former boss in last week’s U.S. presidential election. With Ms. Pickus having substantial experience with Trump properties, she hopes The Grand Ho Tram can continue to serve as a champion of U.S.-Vietnam ties for the incoming Trump Administration. Furthermore, given Ms. Pickus’ extensive legal experience, her addition to the team at The Grand Ho Tram presents an excellent opportunity to share best practices from the United States as Vietnam considers opportunities to reform the regulatory regime for its hospitality and gaming sector.

Ms. Pickus obtained her law degree from the University of Richmond Law School, and her undergraduate degree from Long Island University. She is a member of the International Association of Gaming Advisors and served as a Trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Casino Law Section. Ms. Pickus resides in New York City, with her husband, the prominent gaming attorney and casino executive Robert Pickus.
