Marathonbet launch Manchester United-branded real-money online casinoUK-licensed online betting operator Marathonbet has launched a new live online casino product in partnership with footballers Manchester United.

In August 2015, Marathonbet signed on as the new official global betting partner (excluding China and the United States) of the English Premier League mainstays. The partners have now extended this relationship via the launch of a real-money online casino site adorned with Man U branding.

In what is being described as “a world exclusive for both United and football,” Man U’s latest dive into real-money online gambling is offering live roulette, blackjack and other games to players 18 years of age or older, who will be “immersed in a Manchester United-themed environment” at mufc.marathonbet.co.uk/casino.

The site plans to offer an array of team giveaways, prizes and game offers. Man U icons Gary Pallister (pictured), Jesper Blomqvist and Andrew Cole will be at Old Trafford stadium on Thursday night to celebrate the gambling site’s official launch.

The team’s Group Managing Director Richard Arnold called the site launch “the most exciting moment yet of this great partnership” with Marathonbet, adding that team fans who like to gamble would welcome “the chance to interact among kindred spirits.”

Marathonbet’s head of gaming R&D Christian Melin echoed this sentiment, calling the site “a chance for fans to mix with like-minded players” while trumpeting the co-branded environment as “truly one of a kind in the industry.”

Man U is obviously hoping that this latest attempt at establishing a real-money online casino presence won’t suffer the same fate as its first effort. In March 2015, the team partnered with Bwin.party digital entertainment on a real-money casino app that was scrapped after just five months as the cash-poor betting operator let its sponsorship deal with the team lapse.

Man U has had better luck with free-play online gaming products courtesy of KamaGames, including the launch of Social Poker and Social Slots apps last year.
