EPT and WPT release schedule news as the former releases the schedule for EPT Barcelona, and the latter does likewise for the remainder of 2014.
The poker world may well be engrossed in nothing but the World Series of Poker (WSOP), but that hasn’t stopped the other members of the ‘Big Three’ pushing out reminders that there is life after Vegas.
First the European Poker Tour (EPT), and they have released the schedule for the upcoming Season 11 stop at Barcelona. The event will take place Aug 16-27, at the Casino de Barcelona, and once again the EPT will partner with the Estrellas Poker Tour in a move that was so successful in Season 10.
Not only will EPT Barcelona be the first event of Season 11, but it will also be the setting for the EPT’s 100th event – and Grand Final apart – I can’t think of a better setting.
The schedule has a little something for everyone with a €1,100 Estrellas Main Event, €220 & €1,100 Senior’s Events; €50,000 Super High Roller; €10,300 High Roller; €5,300 Main Event; €220 Women’s Event and a whole host of €1,000, €2,000 and €5,000 events.

The World Poker Tour (WPT) Announces First Half of Season XIII
The WPT have announced plans to hold 20 global tournaments in the first half of it’s 13th Season, and with more planned announcements in the future, it’s going to be another big year for Adam Pliska and his team.
“Season XII was a monumental year for the World Poker Tour and our partners around the globe,” said WPT President Adam Pliska. “From the WPT World Championship held for the first time at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, a 1,795 record-setting field at the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown, and a greater than 50% increase in our viewership on FOX Sports Networks to our new collaboration with DeepStacks Poker Tour and three multi-year partnership deals with DraftKings, Monster Headphones, and Swiss luxury watch brand Hublot, we couldn’t be happier with our expansion during Season XII or more excited about our plans for Season XIII.”
The new schedule includes National, Regional, WPT500 and Main Event Tour stops providing buy-ins for the low and high rollers alike.
Once again the WPT will be visiting all corners of the globe with countries such as Italy, London, Spain, Belgium, South Africa, Morocco, Cyprus, France, China, Canada and the US all hosting an event of some kind.
One omission from the early bird schedule is the lack of information on the second season of the WPTAlpha8 – so we will keep our ears to the ground on that one.
