UK Bookmaker William Hill and the sports broadcaster Satellite Information Services (SIS) have been in the equine news recently.

Hills have agreed an extension to its sponsorship of the Ayr Gold Cup Festival. The new deal will see Ralph Topping’s baby remain as the title sponsor for the next three years ending September 2016.

It is the second time an extension has been added to the deal that was originally signed back in 2009, and it gives Hill carte blanche when it comes to naming rights over the three day fixture that includes the William Hill Ayr Gold Cup, the Silver and Bronze cups, the Doonside Cup, Ayrshire Handicap and Kilkerran Cup.

“We are delighted to be renewing our sponsorship of the Gold Cup Festival once again, and to be continuing our now long-standing relationship with the team at Ayr Racecourse.

“Year-on-year the meeting is popular with both the punters, who love the challenge of the Bronze, Silver and Gold Cups and the racegoers.” Said William Hill sponsorship and PR manager Jennie Prest.

Ayr chairman Alan Macdonald said: “By signing this three-year extension both parties can look forward to continuing to work together to maintain and increase the profile of this marvelous three days of racing, which is without doubt one of the highlights of the Flat season in the UK.”

SIS to Offer Coverage of Dubai Horse Racing

SIS continue to offer the masses the opportunity to watch everything that they gamble on, by offering coverage of Dubai Horse Racing for its online and retail customers such as Bet365, BetVictor, Paddy Power, Boylesports and Betfair.

The news comes after a successful pilot scheme that was introduced in 2012, and punters will now gain access to 31 race meets from the Jebel Ali and Meydan racecourses from Nov to March; including the high profile Dubai World Cup Carnival Programme, which will run Jan 9th through to March 29th, and will offer £17m in prize money.
