WSOP announces full schedule for 2013 jaunt

WSOP Main Event Bracelet
The bling they all want

World Series of Poker organizers Caesars Entertainment have confirmed the schedule for this year’s event with one more bracelet being awarded to take the number to 62. The 44th WSOP is set to run from May 29 to July 15, 2013 at its usual home of the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas with the Main Event getting underway on Jul. 6. This year’s event has a number of new events on the schedule with a $111,111 buy-in high-roller bracelet event among those added to the bill this year. The first Saturday will mark the start of ‘The Millionaire Maker’, a $1,500 buy-in event that tournament organizers say will guarantee a $1million winner.

Ty Stewart, Executive Director of the WSOP, commented; “From the opening weekend, where we will make yet another millionaire, to the Main Event, which awards the largest single prize in the world, the WSOP is an annual affirmation about the strength and global appeal of the game.”

The Main Event will, as usual, end in November when the final nine players will bring their ‘A’ game to the Rio with the start date yet to be finalized. As for July, it’s scheduled to wrap up the final day of the 2013 WSOP. Organizers hope the total number of participanrts will eclipse last year’s total of 74,766 that was the second highest ever and just 1 percent short of being the highest.

The world-famous ONE DROP High Roller is back again and kicks off on Wednesday, June 26 at 12 p.m. As mentioned earlier it’s a $111,111 buy-in this year and there will be no cap on players this year. Last year’s event sawe a $1million buy-in and in that sense it isn’t even close to last year’s event. With no cap on players though, it could generate more money for charity than last year’s event and that’s always a plus. The full schedule for this year’s event can be found here.
