Bet24 adds four; WSOPC Rincon won by Kuether; EPT Campione day 1b led by Chouity

Paul Foltyn, Michael Schuerpf, Stjepan Jokic and Mads Åmot join a multi-national squad already including Jesper Hougaard, Stefan Mattsson and footballer-turned poker player Jan Mølby. Team captain is Hougaard, and he told Card Player Europe: “As a Team captain I couldn’t have picked a better group of diverse players like this with pro live players, sports stars, TV-Stars, online poker super stars and rising poker stars.”

Southern California hosted the latest stop on the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) with Joe Kuether taking home the hefty first prize. Harrahs Rincon, near San Diego, drew 332 players to the $1,600 buy-in Main Event but none of them could prevent Kuether reaching his highest tournament cash-out ever. Next up for the WSOPC is Council Bluffs in Iowa with the Main Event running from April 7 to April 9.

Nicolas Chouity headed day 1b of the EPT Campione after more than double the day 1a total turned up. In all 392 poker aficionados enter the competition meaning in all there were 570 competitors and a prize pool of €2,764,500. Lebanese player Chouity (165,800) held a narrow lead over second placed Andrea Benelli (163,400) as they juke it out for the chance to land the first prize of €640,000. Neither was able to make the top of the leaderboard of 325 players. That belongs to day 1a chip leader Davide Andreoni and Chouity could only manage third place behind Nick Yunis.
