smaller-iphone-in-developmentEver since Android decided that they were going to take on Apple in a no holds barred battle to rule the smart phone market, Google and the aforementioned fruit have been doing their best to out-do each other. Whether it’s turning up to parties with the best Bluetooth headset on their arm or making sure they’re wearing the best phone condom, they make sure they stand out.

After Android was named the most popular smart phone operating system earlier this year, Apple is rumored to be close to unveiling the iPhone 5 in the not so distant future. If reports are to be believed a cheaper handset is being developed, alongside the iPhone 5, to combat the stranglehold that Android currently holds

Bloomberg’s article explains that, there will also be a lower cost model that is smaller, will be a significant amount cheaper than it’s big brother and specifically designed to wage war with Google.

It’s also thought that the cheaper iPhone would make the device more attractive to markets round the world that wouldn’t already be able to afford it. This may be the case in Asia, where gambling is experiencing a spike right now anyway. If mobile gaming was also to experience the same amount of growth in the area then it will be extremely good news for the gambling industry.
