Greece and Denmark have advanced legislation that would legalize online casinos and sports betting in these European nations. Greece, in particular, has unofficially confirmed a bill that would regulate online gambling which, once voted in, would grant 50 gaming licenses by the year’s end.
After a taxation dispute delayed the process, the Netherlands’ tax minister Troels Lund Poulsen, known as “T-bone” to his friends, has assured industry managers that the Danish licensing process will begin in the Autumn of 2011.
All of this comes as Italy prepares to incorporate online casino gambling in the coming months, making this a prime time for the European iGaming industry.
