A matter of weeks ago it was on the cards that Portsmouth Football Club had breathed for the last time. If a deal wasn’t finalized, the club would be liquidated and no longer would their ramshackle home have tenants. Now the future looks rosy. Only a point off the playoffs and magically out of the water, for the moment, they’ve even entered the world of iGaming.
Today Genting Alderney signed a deal to become Pompey’s gaming partner, giving fans a chance to win a number of club related prizes. Casino and poker will be on offer for fans who can win VIP trips to upcoming fixtures as well as spending sprees on club merchandise.
At the launch Pompey’s commercial, director Lucius Peart said: “We know that in their spare time many fans enjoy playing a little poker or casino games on the internet. Therefore, we wanted to bring fans their own gaming sites and exclusive tournaments just for them.
“We chose Genting as out gaming partner because they are as passionate about football as we are and they embrace the same community spirit that we pride ourselves on.
Whereas Genting Alderney MD, Peter Nolan, commented: “Pompey fans are arguably the most loyal fans in the league and we are confident they will enjoy their own gaming environment.
They may well be a loyal band of supporters but Genting may well be taking on the single most annoying fan in the entire world. Anyone who’s been will know what I’m talking about. So just don’t attend any games Genting – unless it’s to steal his various instruments.
