Randal Flowers takes WPT Festa al Lago title

Randal-Flowers-Festa-al-LagoRandal Flowers has outlasted Michael Benvenuti to take top honors at the 2010 World Poker Tour Festa al Lago at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Flowers, who became the WPT’s youngest winner in 2009 by taking the Spanish Championship at the tender age of 20, is now (at 22) the WPT’s youngest two-time winner.

Flowers takes home a cool $831K for his troubles, while runner-up Benvenuti makes do with a paltry $564K. The remainder of the final table cashed out as follows: Noah Schwartz ($345K), Jason Koon ($225K), Andy Frankenberger ($161K) and Skip Wilson ($113K).

Annette Obrestad, who was chip leader heading into Tuesday’s play, was also that day’s first casualty, finishing 13th overall and leaving her still chasing that elusive first major live win on American turf. Still, she did better than any of those bikini-wearing poker girlie wannabes, so, meh…
