As if Full Tilt’s Formula 1 branding experiment wasn’t already hampered by its partnership with some of the slowest cars on the circuit, the poker network has just been informed that the deal will be subject to restrictions in some racing jurisdictions. At issue is the old dot-net v. dot-com brouhaha, but in some territories, even this distinction may not be enough to allow Full Tilt to get its brand message out to the racing masses. Getting the regulatory equivalent of the yellow ‘caution’ flag waved at them must be particularly galling for Full Tilt, especially since partner Virgin Racing’s abysmal placings mean they’re likely never get to wave the checkered victory flag anytime soon.
