Online poker players, tired of being given the runaround, are readying themselves to take a stand against the Maltese Lotteries & Gaming Authority (LGA) over Everleaf scandal.
If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting what you’ve always gotten, and in the case of the former US players of Everleaf Gaming, voicing their complaints via the written word hasn’t heralded a return of their stolen player funds.
With this in mind, one particularly proactive 2+2 forum user, who goes by the name of Sepholdem, has decided the time is nigh to do something different if there is any hope of US players ever getting the justice they thoroughly deserve.
The Everleaf Gaming Network withdrew from the US market in February 2012 following fund seizures by the US Department of Homeland Security. Not long after the news broke a representative of Everleaf skin Minted Poker claimed that Everleaf, and representatives from the LGA, would commence proceedings with US officials ‘as to how these funds are returned to players.”
Two years later and players are still waiting.
During those two years, the only offer of solace that Everleaf gave their former US customers was to traipse to a different country and open a non-US account at a suitably approved payment processor. At the same time payment processor Chuck Kidd, from PIC-Club fame, told Pokerfuse that he made an offer to the CFO of Everleaf to use his company to pay back US players, and not only did he get a response in the negative, but he also said they had no intention of paying back their US customers.
In February 2013, the LGA claimed that ‘through the LGA’s intervention, a great majority of such players have already been paid in accordance with Remote Gaming Regulations.’
Methinks Sepholdem and the gang beg to differ.
Just days after former US Full Tilt Poker Red Pros, and Friends of Full Tilt, were cleared to begin their remission process, Sepholdem unveiled his plans to take physical action against the LGA. The entity he believes is behind the problems that he and a whole host of players have faced for the past two years.
Sepholdem intends to hold a demonstration against the LGA at the ICE Totally Gaming event due to be held in London 3rd-5th February, where the LGA will have a stand at the event.
In addition, he has also asked affected players to unite in an effort to complain to the EU Parliament, contact the European Commission Vice-President Michel Barnier and also Joe Cuschieri, the Head of the LGA, with a deluge of complaints and catcalls.
If you are someone who has been affected by the Everleaf sham then head over to the 2+2 forum and put your weight behind Sepholdem and the gang.
