Soheb Porbandarwala is sitting pretty as the only player to break the 200K chip count during Day 1A of the EPT London. More than half the day’s 339 entrants were eliminated – including Vanessa Selbst, Jeff Madsen, and the banana-clad Eric Liu – a casualty rate that made the first day of EPT look like the first 10 minutes of SPR (Saving Private Ryan). Some 360 players have already signed up to take part in Day 1B action beginning at noon local time.
Meanwhile, Bodog Network CEO Patrik Selin, the only major poker network chief exec who isn’t shy about facing down the competition up close and in person, is sitting around the middle of the Day 1A survivors with a chip stack of 58K. Patrik will be back in action again on Friday, assuming he manages to get all that hockey equipment removed by then.
