I have a lot of fond London memories from over the years…visits to Big Ben, red telephone booths dotted along the main streets, my very first encounter with Calvin Ayre at Movida in ’06, hanging with Rodman at his Pangaea VIP table, getting leid at Casinomeister’s 50th bday party, hot tubs in living rooms, the Golden Girls, four years of London igaming conferences, losing my camera and wallet thanks to Michael Caselli, and the list goes on. In fact, I will be adding even more fond memories to the list after attending and covering EGR Live and EGR Awards as Rebecca Liggero, the main on-site reporter of CalvinAyre.com.
We have two industry firsts coming up, my friends. Lets start with the conference…yay another one! EGR Live is an entirely new concept providing attendees with meeting space, conference sessions, workshops, networking events, and an online schedule management and meeting request system ALL for free! That’s right…you do not have to trick the organizers into believing that you maybe do some work for operator x, but that you are, in fact, an affiliate too. Yea. You know who you are. While free entry is all well and good, I think the schedule management system is simply amazing- after registering online, you can use the system to request and accept meetings, sign up for sessions, and manage your entire schedule online. Brilliant! I always seem to f*&%#ck up my schedule at these things.
Next we have EGR Awards, otherwise known as the “iGaming Industry Oscars”, which is THE anticipated event of the year for the operators. On Monday evening, November 30th, EGR will unveil a new format and new venue for the awards at Old Billingsgate- awards first, then dinner, then after party. Most exciting of all, I will be covering this black tie event Red Carpet style, interviewing nominees on their way into the venue and recipients of the awards after they receive them. This is your moment of fame people!! Please join me on the red carpet so I can help you tell the world how fabulous your company is (and how fabulous you are, of course).
