A New York Post article reported that money was the reason why pending legalized sports betting bills fizzled in New York. The Post said a total of $270,000 in contributions were given to both supporters and dissenters of the bills. For instance, the campaign fund of Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who was dead set against sports gambling expansion without a constitutional amendment, received $25k from the company behind Resorts World in Queens and another $25,000 from Seneca County's del Lago Resort.
