Russia’s Ministry of Finance is reportedly preparing a bill that will prohibit online sales of instant lottery products as they were closely associated with online casino games. The country currently has a few state-approved lotteries but they can only offer traditional numeric draw products. To make online gambling more difficult to access, Russia’s State Duma has approved a bill cordoning off the country’s internet from the outside world. The bill aims to protect the country’s internet from foreign intervention but since we were not born yesterday, we know that this is plain censorship at work.
