If you’re wondering why Kris Humprhies of the New Jersey Nets is straight balling and has his swagger on twenty million right now, you might want to look at who he’s currently dating. Once you realize who he’s dating, it will come as no surprise that Humphries is a double-double machine these days and is having a career season. I`ll give you a hint: She has made a sex tape and recently released her first music single…which was terrible.
If you guessed Kim Kardashian, you`re bang on, and ever since Humphries started rolling with the popular socialite, so is he.
It`s not like Humprhies wasn`t a good player before, he showed signs while he was in Toronto playing for Sam Mitchell. Mitchell had elected to play Humphries over Andrea Bargnani because unlike Bargnani, Humphries could rebound, and play gritty defence on the blocks which wins games. Obviously, with Bargnani being Colangelo`s first overall draft pick and the so-called future of the franchise, Colangelo couldn`t have him gathering splinters on the bench. Sam Mitchell ended up losing his job less than a full season after being named NBA Coach of the Year, and Humphries found himself buried on the Raptors bench.
Fast forward to now, and Humphries and Sam Mitchell are re-united in New Jersey. Mitchell an excellent player`s coach, is now one of the assistant coaches for the Nets and Humprhies is getting his time to shine. With Kim Kardashian by his side, Humphries is putting up career highs. Last night, Humphries grabbed 23 rebounds and dropped 18 points. If you don`t have this guy on your fantasy squad, you better pick him up.
Humphries isn`t the only basketball player dating a Kardashian and having a career year. Since marrying Kloe Kardashian, Lamar Odom has had a resurgence. Of course, playing for team USA this past summer must have helped his fitness, but Odom has taken his game to new heights this season. Without question he should have been an all-star and he should be a lock to win 6th man of the year.
There`s something to be said about having a superstar celebrity woman by your side, perhaps these guys think they need to step their games up so that they are not living in the shadow of their women. Whatever the case is, both Humphries and Odom are riding high on the Kardashian charm.
