Ever since the turn of the year it seems like a number of online gaming companies have been taking Bodog’s lead when it comes to recruiting the best talent the industry has to offer. We already saw Full Tilt Poker looking at hiring around 100 members of staff for their offices in Ireland and it now seems the leading online exchange operator, Betfair is following suit
Today’s announcement from the company that has recently become a public operator was that they have recruited a new independent non-executive director in the shape of Baroness Denise Kingsmill CBE. She is an esteemed appointment after already holding the position of deputy chairman of the Competition Commission from 1996 to 2003, chairing 22 economic enquiries on almost every sector of the UK industry.
Ed Wray, Chairman of Betfair Group plc, commented: “I am delighted that Denise has agreed to join our Board. Her first-hand experience of the complex regulatory challenges facing international businesses coupled with her pragmatic approach will be extremely valuable to the Board and to Betfair.”
Kingsmill is currently a member of Microsoft’s European Policy Council and her position at Betfair started yesterday (February 1)
