It would be very wrong indeed to start this article with the words “all the talking is over as the heavyweight fight of 2011 between David Haye and Wladimir Klitschko looks on.” Why? Because even if the fight was completely wrapped up and Haye was told not to talk, he still wouldn’t shut up. It would be worth his promoters weight in gold if he stuffed a sock in the bloke’s mouth. That’s probably what many people like about Haye.
Back to business though, and yes some of what we said earlier is true as it looks like the fight between Haye and Klitschko will go ahead in the coming year.
“Wladimir has the IBF, WBO and IBO titles and I want to fight the guy with the most titles out there,” Haye told the Guardian. “He’s considered the No1 guy and I’d definitely like to fight him first. He’s more athletic and a little younger and fresher than his brother – while Vitali is a little bit tougher. But they’re nowhere near as fast as I am and that would be the decisive factor.”
It’s also been confirmed “no hard-core business was done in Las Vegas”, but there will be more negotiations in the near future and they “will have some news pretty soon.”
Now all we have to wait for is the famous smash talk to begin from Haye and Klitschko to counter with his monotonous drone which he’s known for, when they get in the ring though, it should be quite a fight.
