Sportech had previously been on cusp of sealing the deal in acquiring Scientific Games Racing from Scientific Games Corporation pending approval from the New Jersey Racing Commission. Well, the wait is now over, the verdict is in.
The New Jersey Racing Commission has officially given Sportech the green light to acquire Scientific Games Racing from the Scientific Games Corporation. As the final regulatory authority approval needed for the transaction to be completed, the nod from the New Jersey Racing Commission means that all the regulatory authorities in the United States with jurisdiction over the transaction have given the required approvals for Sportech to acquire SGR from SGC so they’re good to go.
In addition, Sportech has also reported its regulatory process in the Netherlands is now complete and the company anticipates the required license to be granted in the very near future.
Sportech has come along way from a small electronics company in 1979, based out of Scotland specializing in manufacturing hard disks. The company has grown from being listed on the London Stock Exchange as Rodime PLC, to taking over the Littlewoods Gaming business to now a major player in the industry with this finalization of their acqusition of Scientific Games Racing.
