So the fact that Muttiah Muralitharan achieved his 800th wicket on the last day of his last test shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. Oh and it was his last ever ball in test cricket, to end a remarkable career which took in a World Cup victory for his native Sri Lanka, to go with the amazing feat of 16 wickets in a match against England.
