Not long after Tan Sri Vincent Tan, the head of Ascot Sports’ parent company Berjaya Corp., lashed out at Malaysia’s Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak for awarding/waffling/revoking the company’s sports betting license, the PM has backtracked yet again, sort of. Ascot will indeed get its license, says the good PM, just not now. Yes, someday, if/when the anti-gambling Malaysian extremists ever lighten the fuck up, and/or the PM grows a spine, Ascot will be first in line to offer legal sports betting to Malay punters.
