The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) announced a new deal with slots machine maker Bally Technologies.
The deal will be beneficial for both companies. OLG will use Bally Technologies’ central casino gaming system solution. This allows OLG to move forward with its modernization plans throughout the province in compliance with the “Conduct and Manage” responsibilities of Canada’s Criminal Code.
Bally will be able to provide leading technology gaming systems throughout the province. Bally will also implement responsible gambling tools to all casinos operating across Ontario.
“This agreement demonstrates our continued commitment to the needs of the Canadian gaming market and we are very excited about working together to help OLG fulfill its modernization,” Bally Technologies’ Senior Vice President of North American Sales and Corporate Marketing Robert Parente said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Great Canadian Gaming Corporation exercised its renewal option with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) to extend its Casino Operational Services Agreement with the Fraser Downs Racetrack and Casino in Surrey.
The extension will see Great Canadian act as Fraser Downs’ casino operator until March 31, 2024. Great Canadian will also complete new market research that will determine the scale of the casino’s planned renovations next year.
Great Canadian President and CEO Rod Baker commented on the extension. “We are pleased to have exercised the renewal option and look forward to incorporating changes to the property that are supported by market demand and which will continue to provide our guests exciting entertainment experiences.”
Great Canadian has been the operator of the Fraser Downs Racetrack and Casino since 2005.
